Food Rescue of Sky Valley hosts a community food share program as an important means of preventing food waste and giving to our community. We aim to reduce waste by getting these products into the community to help others before they need to be given to animals or compost.

How It Works

Facebook:

  • You request a food share box by visiting our community Facebook page and commenting on a “share out” post or sending a direct message.
  • We send you a Facebook direct message confirming location and your assigned pick up time.
  • You come at your assigned time and receive a box of food.

Email:

  • You request a food share box by filling out the Request A Share – Contact Form.
  • We send you an email confirming location and your assigned pick up time.
  • You come at your assigned time and receive a box of food.

What To Expect

Share-out events typically occur twice weekly in Monroe, WA.

  • Tuesday mornings (usually 9-10am)
  • Thursday evenings (usually 7-7:15pm)

You can expect to find a variety of deli items, fruits, vegetables, dairy, meats, bread & pastry products of all kinds, and most of the time pizza too! We do our best to accommodate special diets, but we cannot always honor special requests.

Please take and share abundantly! Re-give the food to neighbors, friends, and all in need; we simply ask that recipients do their best to help us reduce food waste.

Share Out Status

Join us for our community share out at the Monroe Public Library!

When: Tuesday morning @ 9-9:30am

Where: Near the entrance of the Monroe Public Library

What: "Open Shopping" style. No shares will be reserved. Please form a line no earlier than 8:45am and the host will let you know when it is your turn to shop.

Please bring your own shopping bags as well as patience and kindness for your fellow community members.

Please spread the word to neighbors and family; everyone is welcome and no documentation is ever needed.
